FGCU Rist Family Foundation High School Ethics Competition 2022 Winners Named

After a COVID hiatus, Florida Gulf Coast University’s Newton Ethical Leadership Initiative (NELI) once again hosted its annual FGCU Rist Family Foundation High School Ethics Competition, this time as an individual event. Students were asked to respond to a real-life event in which an auditor finds that the CEO and employees of a mental health organization are “Doing Bad to Do Good.” They are knowingly requesting reimbursement for services they are not delivering, but they are providing other services they deem critical for their clients, but just aren’t reimbursable in the way the government policy is written. Students have to decide the right thing to do and then find strategies for overcoming the reasons and rationalizations that people are likely to present as roadblocks to doing the right thing.

Welcome back to the first full in-person meeting of the Supply Chain Forum of SWFL on the Florida Gulf Coast University campus since 2019, held at the ETI building. It was great to see the smiling faces and the enthusiastic participation at a well-attended event. Many thanks and a deep appreciation for the time and effort put in by the university leadership, the excellent speakers and panelists.

FGCU Sales Team wins first place at Selling with the Bulls 2022

Congratulations to Dr. Brent Baker and our students in the FGCU Sales Team (Morgan Youngerman, Jacob Toy and Pamela Manning) for an excellent performance at the Selling with the Bulls sales competition at the University of South Florida. Based on the students’ performance on individual competitions, collectively FGCU won first place overall. Go Eagles!
