Education Abroad Providers are organizations outside the ausices of FGCU that facilitate independent study abroad experiences for students. Faculty Led Study Abroad programs are short term study tours from one week to one month led by FGCU faculty. Faculty align destination with curriculum and programs usually offer one course for 3 credits or two courses for 6 credits. Studying abroad is an amazing opportunity that leads to life-changing experiences. However, the costs associated can seem daunting at first. FGCU is committed to providing its students with the tools and resources necessary to offset the cost of an international experience. On this page, you will find multiple ways to fund your experience abroad.

In order to receive the reimbursement for study abroad for education abroad provider programs, You need:
1. FGCUStudy Abroad Consortium Agreementcompleted section 1 and 2.
2. Copy ofCourse Pre-Approval form.
3. Information regarding the Study Abroad program, dates, contact information so if needed I can contact someone in the program.
4. Receipts showing payments.
5. Confirmation of attendance after the course begins. A screen print from the enrollment page will suffice. It needs to have the school name, student name, term dates and course names to match the pre-approval form.
6. After program ends, send a copy of the grades to Financial Aid to show completion of funded transient term.

It would ideal to start planning payment optionsa year in advance. This would allow the student to maximize aid from prior year to possibly get funding from prior year to enhance aid from the study abroad year. Funds cannot be disbursed before the disbursement date for the term. That means no advanced disbursements.

Reimbursement cannot happen before the FGCU term reimbursement date.
